Grade 4 English Language Arts Scope & Sequence with Islamic Studies Integration
By Grade 4, students are ready to do more than tell you what happened in a text. They are beginning to explain why it matters, support their ideas with evidence, and communicate increasingly complex thoughts through writing.
This 36-week guide develops close reading, inference, theme, summarizing, character and perspective, informational text, vocabulary, opinion and argument writing, explanatory writing, narrative writing, research, speaking, listening, grammar, and language.
Islamic Studies integration can include Muslim-authored literature, biographies, Islamic history, science, art, poetry, and themes such as justice, courage, gratitude, responsibility, and belonging.
Students are encouraged to think rather than simply search for the answer they believe an adult wants.
