Grade 6 English Language Arts Scope & Sequence with Islamic Studies Integration
The move into middle school brings a noticeable shift in English Language Arts. Students are expected to read more closely, think more critically, support their ideas with evidence, conduct research, and communicate with increasing independence.
This 36-week guide provides a clear roadmap for Grade 6 literature, informational reading, writing, vocabulary, grammar, research, speaking, and listening.
Students work with textual evidence, theme, character, point of view, central ideas, text structure, argument writing, explanatory writing, narrative writing, poetry, source evaluation, research, and presentation.
Islamic Studies integration can include Muslim writers and poets, biographies, Islamic history and civilization, historical figures, character and akhlaq, justice, gratitude, responsibility, belonging, respectful disagreement, and accurate representation of sources.
The purpose is not to turn every reading passage or grammar exercise into an Islamic Studies lesson. Instead, the guide helps families identify the places where faith, identity, literature, history, and strong academics genuinely complement one another.
